I made the girls a t-shirt to wear for the parade. I saw this idea at Family Fun and thought it would be cool to try out. I cut a star from my Cricut and traced it onto cardboard and then used my Xacto knife to cut it out. Then you had to peel away the one layer of the cardboard to reveal the ridges that are in it. I wanted both of them to have white shirts, but, O said she wanted navy blue. I thought the red paint would work, but, it didn't really show up that well. As you can see in the picture below, the white only stood out.
