Jackson Pollock art

I found this idea over at paint cut paste and was excited to have the kids try it. It is splatter painting onto canvas, inspired by artist, Jackson Pollock. You could also use anything else like a cloth sheet, paper, etc.

I always have to take a picture of my supplies-is that weird? I guess I just love all the colors! We used paper plates then squeezed some acrylic paint onto them and diluted it with a little bit of water.

Here we go. I told her she couldn't touch the paintbrush to the canvas. I just kept yelling (in a nice tone of course), "splatter harder" and she would whip the brush. We used different sizes of brushes too. The bigger bristles gave you more splatter than a tiny brush did.

The little one couldn't splatter it as hard.

Must of been the way she was 'splattering'. It ended up all over her feet. But, it washes right off.

Here are their masterpieces! We are going to hang them in our house somewhere.
I heart canvas!

I was thinking after, that I should of wrote their names and dates on them in the corner first and then they could of splattered. But, I can still do that.

Happy Father's Day

I found this fabulous idea here to do for Father's Day. You take wide popsicle sticks, line them up evenly, tape the back with scotch tape on the top and bottom, flip it over and glue your announcement/photo on there. Lay it between something heavy for 24 hrs. (at least I did), then, take the tape off the back, using another stick, line it up and use an Xacto knife to slice thru to give you individual pieces. And there you have it-a puzzle of sorts. We gave it to daddy the day before in his card. It was to spell out what we were going to do for FD.

Here he is trying to put it all together. He did mess up a few times. I'm like, that doesn't make sense. LOL!

Here is the finished product and this is where we were headed on FD.

I also baked some cupcakes-what else would you expect? I wanted to make it look like grass for the golf balls, so I got the tip for doing it (233) and it was a pain in the you know what. I was squeezing pretty hard and it was barely coming out. So, I gave up and did only one cupcake. I was on a time schedule here. So, I went back to my trusty other tips.........
I found the Father's Day printables here.

Circus ticket booth OR...

My mom found this at JCP and couldn't resist buying it for my daughter's Circus party. It finally arrived today and we put it togther. It is soooo cute! We will be using it as the ticket/prize booth. But, it has also become a lemonade stand, a flower stand and a fruit/vegetable stand too. The black bottom you can write on with chalk and then wipe it off.

Last day of school

Here are the necklaces that we made for O's teachers for the last day of school. There were sooo many cute ideas out there in blogland, I wasn't sure which one I wanted to do. (I can never make up my mind!) Then, I came across this and thought how cute and different. I've never made jewelry in my life, so I was a little hesitant if I could do this and I hoped that they turned out alright. Unfortunately, I didn't have any supplies for this project, so, I had to buy everything.

All in all, I think they turned out pretty great! I even wore it for a bit to see how it looked. NICE! The picture above, I bought a premade necklace, the one below is from suede that I cut myself and clipped on the jewelry attachments to.

I put them on a tag made from my Cricut machine and strung them through the hole and then we were able to write our note on there. Then we just popped them into a clear party favor bag and tied with ribbon.

P.S. Sorry my pictures aren't the best-my camera and photography skills are not the greatest.
